NYC FOOD

I walked pass a busy applebee's today in NY and thought it was kinda of shocking. First i do not understand why those places would be busy anywhere.

But MANHATTEN !?!?!?! WTF...
we have some of the finest restaurant in the world, hundreds of renown chefs vying for attention....the food network which is based in Chelsea has a sea of corky eager foodies to profile everyday... and people will fill up an applebees.

My god we have all the worlds cultures and their food in this city....i mean i lived down the block from a dozen restaurants of a dozen world cuisines all at affordable chilis/applebees/fudruckers/tgif price ranges....come on people step away from the southwestern eggrolls and get into a Sarajevo fast food place.

This past week was a busy one in NY, not only was it fashion week but its was also restaurant week as well. Many of NY finest restaurant featured a fix price meal allowing fliocks of diners an opportunity to experience some of new york finest cuisine and culinary artisans.
thank god my restaurant didnt particiapte, they really arent wanting for business and not to be a snob. but really bring "them" out of the woodwork.

ok so fine diners can be pains in the asses but they throw down some cash but tourists and only on special occasion fine diners are some cheap mo fo .
so out of place...they dont know a thing about food, they dont order wine, they dont tip for shit.

people work in fine dining and not chilis for one reason...the money... they put up with a lot of shit to get the good schedules, to get good tables, to get to know the menu and the wines so not to get tripped up by high maintenances orderer with pesky petty questions and comments.
so when some suburban housewife comes in with her 3 teenage kids looking to try "fancy" food. Its a real pain in the ass.
